SNAP Vs CAT 2018

Entrance exam season is upon us! CAT and SNAP are the two most popularly known management entrance exams in the country; thousands of students appear for these every year. Anyone who knows anything about MBAs has definitely heard of both these entrance exams.

While both these exams are management entrance exams, they are actually quite different. SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) focuses on assessing your specific capabilities from the point of view of business administration. SNAP will be held on the 16th of December, 2018. This test is conducted by the reputed Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for their MBA programmes. They offer a multitude of MBA specializations in fields of IT, Innovation, Computer Applications, Business Analytics, Data Management, International Business among others.

CAT (Common Admission Test) on the other hand is a cumulative test. Clearing this exam allows you to enrol in IIMs and other quality management institutes in India. The CAT Exam tests you in the following areas: Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning
IIMs and other colleges accepting CAT scores release a list of shortlisted candidates on the basis of cutoffs and other admission criteria. CAT applications are open from 8th August to 19th September 2018 and this exam is to be conducted on 25th November 2018.

Many MBA institutes have their own entrance exams, which makes keeping track and applying to all these colleges rather tedious for an MBA aspirant. The advantage of giving SNAP is that it is only one exam that allows you to pick between many specializations from a well established name in the management education world. The ease of giving the exam is only the beginning of the many benefits of enrolling at Symbiosis. With its legacy of being the best for education, infrastructure, learning resources, and faculty, it is a highly sought after institute by MBA aspirants all over India.

To be eligible for SNAP, candidate must be graduates from any statutory University with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST). Candidates appearing for final year examinations can also apply, provided they hold a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.
· SNAP has four sections in all:
· General English – 40 Marks
· Analytical and Logical Reasoning – 40 Marks
· Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency – 40 Marks
· General Awareness – 30 Marks

These sections are divided into two categories of Normal and Special questions. Each normal question carries 1 mark and each special question carries 2 marks.

There you have it. You know all you need about these important MBA entrances. We wish you the best for your entrance exam!
