A Bachelor of Engineering is an undergraduate academic degree for a tenure of 4 years affiliated with different universities across states of Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Gujarat, etc. There are more than 20,000 colleges across India offering n number of specializations to the eligible candidates. Eligible? So yes eligibility matters and once such factor is your ENTRANCE EXAM.
As per recent stats, In 2018 more than 12 lakhs students appeared for a national level entrance exam called JEE Main. So what are these JEE Mains and other competitive exams? What is the purpose of it? This can be a little doomed at the beginning but can be fully taken charge of once you through this blog.

1. JEE Main: Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN
JEE Main is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) with certain criteria of candidates securing 75% and above marks in 12th examination. This is a screening test for applying into NIT’s (National Institutes of Technology), IIITs (The Indian Institute of Information Technology) and CFTIs (Central Funded Technical Institute). This is also a qualifying test for JEE Advanced. Candidates can appear twice a year – January and April. Only 2.64 Lakhs ranking students can appear for JEE Advanced.

2. JEE Advanced: Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced Candidates qualifying JEE Main can only apply for JEE Advanced which is conducted once in a Year and students passing this examination is eligible to secure admission in one of the 16 IITs in India.

- Number of Questions: 2 Papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2, Each Paper – 54 Questions.

BITSAT: Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test Birla Institute of Technology and Science is a private institute which stands among 6th Indian Institutes of Eminence recognized by Government of India. In order to get enrolled with BITS any of the 3 Campuses – Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa, candidates have to give an Online Entrance Test called BITSAT.

VITEEE: Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Test Vellore Institute of Technology works on slot system where students can select the slots to appear for the test once their application is confirmed. It is based on First Come First Serve, so candidates have to be very attentive regarding the dates. VIT has two Campuses in Vellore and in Chennai and 2 autonomous campuses VIT-AP University in Andhra Pradesh and VIT-Bhopal University in Bhopal.

1. MHT CET: Maharashtra Health and Technical Common Entrance Test It is conducted at the State Level by the Government of Maharashtra. A large number of students participate in this test every year, 2018 was recorded as the highest number of students taking this test roughly around 3.8 Lakhs students appeared for the test.
