Common Admission Test (CAT)
One of the most popular entrance examinations in India, CAT is conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIM) every year. This is the biggest as the scores obtained for this exam is used by all IIMs and more than 200 B-schools. You wouldn’t be surprised to know that more than 2 lakh applicants appear for CAT every year.
Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university
Minimum 50% marks (and in case of SC/ST – 45%) in graduation
No age limits
Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT)
CMAT is the second largest MBA entrance examination after CAT. About 1.5 lakh candidates appear for it every year. CMAT exam was conducted by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) till last year; however, from this year onwards, National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting it.

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP)
SNAP is also a national level management entrance test held by Symbiosis International University (SIU). The scores obtained in this test is mainly valid for admissions to 15 institutes under SIU. However, these scores are also valid for many other private MBA college admissions.
Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute/university
Minimum 50% aggregate marks in graduation (and in case of SC/ST – 45%) for all the Master of Business Administration programmes.
Eligibility Criteria for Symbiosis Institutes: Programmes offered in specific discipline by different Symbiosis Institutes like SSSS Pune, SCIT Pune, SITM Pune, SIOM Nashik have their own eligibility criteria which can be checked on their websites.
NMAT by GMAC
Recently acquired by GMAC, NMAT is now known as NMAT by GMAC and used for admissions to some of the leading graduate business programmes offered by institutes like Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), VIT University, Alliance University, SRM University, IBS Business School, BML Munjal University, etc.
Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized university
Minimum 50% score in aggregate in the degree examination
Work experience of two or more years after graduation is preferred for admission to all full-time programmes
Management Aptitude Test (MAT)
This national level entrance exam is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) and held 4 times in a year – February, May, September and December. It is accepted by more than 600 MBA, PGDM and allied management programmes in schools.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduation in any stream from a recognized institute or university
Final year graduate students from any discipline including, science, humanities, commerce or engineering stream from a recognized institute or university
