Will preparing for CAT prepare me for XAT, SNAP & NMAT?
Studying for CAT prepares you for many other aptitude tests as well. It is important to understand the distinguishing features of other exams to make use of your CAT preparation. MBA entrance exams conducted by different colleges are designed with different patterns and evaluation criteria in mind.
XAT
Management aspirants who want to study at XLRI and other institutes which accept XAT score for the admission process can appear for XAT. More than 1 lakh candidates appear for this exam, making the competition level quite high.
NMAT
This is a speed based test . It is designed to measure skills required to succeed in business schools as well as your level of confidence. Make sure you take mock tests till you’re comfortable with your accuracy and speed of completing the exam.
SNAP
SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude) Test is a national level entrance exam for MBA conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to any of their 15 B-Schools.
SNAP exam 2019 is a computer based test that is conducted over 2 hours. There are 4 sections with a total of 130 questions in multiple choice format. You will be tested on: General English: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability,
Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency, Current Affairs, Analytical & Logical Reasoning
All these sections have two types of questions: normal and special. Each normal question carries one mark and each special question carries 2 marks.
There is negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer, so only attempt the questions you are very certain of.

The level of difficulty of this test is average. A large portion of your preparation for the Quantitative section can be easily covered with the 9th and 10th standard maths CBSE syllabus.
Work on grammar exercises and increase your vocabulary to ace the English section, and stay updated by reading the newspaper regularly on important current events and happenings.
